    CMC Mark Curley, USN (Ret)

    Command Master Chief Mark S. Curley, USN (Ret) 
     
    Master Chief Curley grew up in Connecticut and New Hampshire. In 1980, he joined the Navy as a Parachute Rigger. Over the next 31 years his various assignments included Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN),.two tours in command & Control squadrons, three tours in helicopter squadrons, one tour in Electronic Surveillance squadron and two Electronic Attack squadron tours.  He deployed onboard six different aircraft carriers and served overseas assignments in Japan and Spain. He conducted drug interdiction operations in Panama; he deployed with Joint Task Force-Full Accounting leading POW/MIA search teams into the jungles of Laos searching for Missing In Action He is a trained interrogator and expert combat survival instructor in SERE, CSAR, Anti-Terrorism, Hostage Detention/Survival, Desert Survival, Jungle Survival and Water Survival. Master Chief Curley is a combat veteran who served in Panama for Operation Just Cause in 1990, Souda Bay, Crete in the Kosovo Air Campaign in 1998, Incirlik, Turkey for Operation Northern Watch in1999, multiple Persian Gulf deployments for Operation Southern Watch and he deployed six months in-country for combat operations at Al Asad, Iraq in 2005-06 during the height of the Iraq War. His last 12 years he served as a Command Master Chief of five different commands.  He retired from Active Duty in December 2010. Master Chief Curley joined the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation’s National Flight Academy (NFA) team in April 2011 as the Operations Director. His military decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, five Commendation Medals, six Achievement Medals and numerous other campaign medals and personal ribbons.  He currently serves as the President of the Pensacola Navy League and as a board member of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee. He has made Pensacola his home.
